Foot, Trail Bridge on the Wonderland Trail with Foilage

 - Saturday, December 10, 2016
This is one of many foot bridges on the Wonderland Trail. I love how the plants and moss are covering the edges of the bridge and the walking trail is clear and nicely worn!

While on a trip to Hawaii I made a visit to Pearl Harbor on Oahu. I was able to capture a photo of the American Flag that now flys aboard this vessel, the U.S.S Bowfin submarine. This vessel lived through a traumatic era of American History and this flag with, "Don't Tread on Me" epitomizes the American attitude during World War II.

Spray Park Trail on the descent to Carbon River Campground, Portrait

After we left Mowich Lake Campground, my buddy and I decided to take the Spray Park trail instead of the Wonderland Trail Proper. I read in Bette Filley's book, "Discovering The Wonders of the Wonderland Trail" that Spray Park offers some magnificent views of Rainier whereas the Wonderland Trail is more forested and covered. The only catch is that if it's bad weather, Spray Park is absolutely miserable as there is no cover and it's the highest point on the trail. Thankfully we lucked out and had blue skies and great views! Here is a photo of Spray Park Trail close to the Carbon River Campground.

Also, as a late night surprise, there was a group of people surveying the land for a University, they introduced themselves to us with left over Chocolate cake that they couldn't finish. It was delightful! Here is a black & white version of this photo: Mowich Lake With Rocks On The Shoreline (Black & White)

I took this photo near the very end of our 11 day, 10 night journey and trek through the woods, rivers and mountains of the Wonderland Trail! Please note: This picture has a good amount of natural "grain" and "noise". It was not "added in" as an effect and will be present in the final printed photograph. I kinda like the look of it, but if that's not your style you should order a different photograph!
